When you need it
What bonding fixes
Chipped tooth
The classic case: composite shaped onto the tooth and polished in one sitting.
Small gaps
A narrow gap between front teeth can often be closed without braces.
Worn or uneven edges
Years of wear flatten front teeth. We rebuild the edge so your smile line is even again.
Stains that won't whiten
A single dark spot or streak can be covered when whitening can't lift it.
Exposed roots
Where gums have receded, bonding covers the sensitive root surface.
Small cavities
Bonding composite is what a tooth-colored filling is made of: same material, front-tooth finesse.
Reshaping several teeth at once, not just one? Teeth bonding has a limit; that's veneer territory →
Straight talk
Bonding vs. veneers vs. a crown
Bonding is the smallest, most reversible option: one visit, no lab, no drilling for most cases. For a chip, a small gap, or a worn edge, it's usually all you need, and we'll say so rather than sell you up.
Veneers cost more and involve preparing the tooth, but they resist stain and last longer, which matters when you're reshaping several teeth at once, not repairing one. A crown is different again: full coverage for a tooth that's structurally weak, not a cosmetic touch-up.
Whichever your case is, you'll hear which one and why, with the price, before anything happens.

What to expect
Bonding, step by step
Shade match: we pick the composite that disappears against your enamel.
Prep the surface: the enamel is lightly etched so the material grips. No drilling for most cases.
Shape & cure: the composite is sculpted, then hardened with a light.
Polish & check the bite: smoothed until it feels like your own tooth.
How long? One visit, about 30–60 minutes per tooth, no numbing for most cases.

Bonding FAQ
How much does dental bonding cost in Redlands?
Bonding is priced per tooth, and it's the most affordable cosmetic fix we offer. Some PPO plans cover it when the tooth is chipped, worn, or decayed rather than purely cosmetic; we verify your benefits before your visit so you see your number first. Paying yourself? In-house payment plans and Cherry financing. Call (909) 793-1595 for the per-tooth fee.
How long does bonding take?
One visit, about 30 to 60 minutes per tooth, and you walk out with it finished.
Does bonding hurt?
Usually not even numbing. The enamel is lightly etched, not drilled. If bonding is filling a small cavity, we numb the tooth first.
How long does bonding last?
Three to ten years, depending on the tooth and your habits. Composite chips more easily than a veneer, but repairs are quick and cheap, which is part of the deal you're choosing.
Will it match my teeth?
Yes. The composite is shade-matched before we start, and polished so it picks up light the way enamel does.
Does bonding stain?
More than enamel or porcelain, over years; coffee, wine, and smoking speed it up. The polish at your regular cleanings helps; if stain resistance is the priority, that's a point for veneers →
Bonding or veneers?
Repairing one or two teeth: bonding, almost always. Reshaping your whole smile line, or you want maximum stain resistance and lifespan: veneers. You'll hear which fits your case, and both prices, before you decide anything.
Can bonding fix a gap between my front teeth?
A narrow gap, yes, often in one visit. If the gap is really an alignment issue, bonding would just paper over it, and we'll tell you so: the orthodontist is in the same office, so finding out which one you have takes one exam, not a referral.
Do you take my insurance?
Some PPO plans cover bonding on a chipped, worn, or decayed tooth; purely cosmetic bonding usually isn't covered. Medi-Cal and IEHP accepted; we verify what your plan covers before your visit. Insurance details →
