A basic cleaning, the one in your $69 first visit, works above the gumline on healthy gums. That's what most people need, and that's what most people get.
If your gums are infected, a basic cleaning can't fix them: the buildup is below the gumline, so a deep cleaning goes below the gumline. If that's you, we'll show you the X-rays and your gum measurements, point at exactly what we see, and go over the cost before we do anything. You decide from there.

How much is a teeth cleaning in Redlands?
New patients: $69 for the exam, full X-rays, and a basic cleaning. With insurance, most PPO plans cover two routine cleanings a year, often with nothing out of pocket, and we verify your benefits before your visit. Without insurance, call (909) 793-1595 for the routine cleaning fee after your first visit.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Twice a year for most people. If your gums need closer attention, your hygienist may suggest every 3 to 4 months, and will tell you exactly why.
What's the difference between a basic cleaning and a deep cleaning?
A basic cleaning works above the gumline on healthy gums; that's what most people need. A deep cleaning treats infection below the gumline. If your gum measurements show you need one, we show you the X-rays, point at what we see, and go over the cost before doing anything. You decide from there.
Does a cleaning hurt?
It shouldn't. Tell your hygienist if your teeth run sensitive or your gums are tender. Going gentle is the default here, and scaling tartar off can feel like relief, not pain.
How long does a cleaning take?
About 40 minutes. Your first visit runs longer because it includes the exam and X-rays.

No. Six months or six years, the visit looks the same: we clean your teeth, show you what we see, and tell you if anything needs attention. Nobody scolds you for the gap; we're glad you're here.
Can I get a cleaning with braces on?
Yes. We clean around brackets and wires all the time, and your orthodontist is in the same office if a bracket needs attention.
Will a cleaning whiten my teeth?
